The IDS uEye XCP-E (model UE-39B0XCP-E) is a highly compact, industrial-grade camera uniquely designed for event-based imaging. Instead of capturing continuous full-frame images, its 0.92-megapixel (1280 x 720) 1/2.5" Sony Prophesee IMX636 CMOS sensor only records relevant changes in brightness at the individual pixel level, asynchronously transmitting the pixel position and time stamp via a 5.0 Gbps SuperSpeed USB 3 interface. Measuring just 29 × 29 × 17 mm, the lightweight and robust camera features a lockable USB-Micro-B connector and is compatible with standard C-mount lenses. It relies on Prophesee's Metavision SDK and the IDS HAL plugin for software integration, making it exceptionally well-suited for fast-paced applications like robotics, object tracking, traffic monitoring, and motion analysis.
