Embedded Vision

Development Kits

The Imaging Source's preassembled embedded development kits for NVIDIA® Jetson Nano™ deliver plug-and-play efficiency for the rapid development of embedded vision and AI projects for applications in automation and industrial internet of things.

The development kits come with a flashed SD card containing all necessary MIPI CSI-2 or FPD-Link III drivers and a custom-designed system image.

Leveraging the hardware ISP (Image Signal Processor) available on all Jetson platforms, the NVIDIA libargus interface delivers a processed video stream to the application with de-mosaicing, color correction and white balance algorithms applied.

The pre-assembled development kits include:

NVIDIA Jetson Nano Developer Board

Sony sensor modules

M12 lens

Pre-flashed SD card

Dedicated cooling fan to prevent thermal throttling

MIPI CSI-2 Sensor Modules

The Imaging Source MIPI CSI-2 sensor modules include a variety of high-performance modules for embedded machine vision applications. These sensor modules feature The Imaging Source's own 28-pin interface and so require an adapter for the target platform interface. This allows system engineers maximum flexibility in the design of their application.

The MIPI CSI-2 protocol enables direct processor / ISP connection, cutting down any latency issues and minimizing footprint. These modules are ideal for single and multi-camera embedded vision applications in automotive and IoT and standard machine vision applications. The sensor modules feature the latest Sony and ONSemi CMOS sensors (global and rolling shutter).

MIPI CSI-2 Board Cameras

The Imaging Source MIPI CSI-2 board cameras, designed for embedded vision applications, combine a MIPI CSI-2 sensor module and a 15-pin CSI-2 adapter for plug-and-play integration with Raspberry Pi 4B, NVIDIA® Jetson Nano™ and NVIDIA® Jetson Xavier™ NX platforms.

These cameras are available in a variety of options ranging from 0.4 MP to 5 MP with frame rates up to 120.

For more design flexibility please see the MIPI CSI-2 Sensor Module options above.
